It’s #TuesdayTakeover and today we’re featuring Sedona local, Lorrie Lawrence.

Who are you:

Lorrie Lawrence, Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner, LMMT, RYI. I am the founder, owner and director of Sedona Wellness in Clarkdale Arizona, Pagosa Wellness in Pagosa Springs Colorado and Aztec Wellness, in Aztec New Mexico.

I am the mother of one amazing Human being that I am so proud of, my son Kai.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Huntington Beach, California, in the northern Sierra Nevada’s, then Los Angeles before living in Europe for 11 years, and am now settled in the Southwest and loving it.

How was your childhood?

AMAZING!

We didn’t have much but always had enough. My mother was very adventurous, so my siblings and I were fortunate to experience things most children would not be able to, those things molded me to who I am and my interests today.

My father became very connected to his native American heritage as a medicine man and practiced mid-life to the day he transitioned, which was passed down to me, and the work that I do to this day. His healing work is carried on each day that I interact with patients. We grew up learning about God at church with my mom and in nature and at powwows on the weekends with my dad.

What was the Worst time in your life/ biggest challenge?

HMMM. My biggest challenges have become my most endeavoring successes! There were no “Worse” times-just better days ahead. Those that know me well help me keep my head up when I start to dive too deep.

Another would be getting thrown over “the wall” in military training became a euphemism for pushing on after an unexpected experience! LOL

Best time/ biggest obstacle you’ve overcome:

There are so many! Some of the best times I have had were on road trips with my son; The places on this planet I witnessed in the best and most extreme conditions; Being responsible for and part of the transformation at some of the retreats and wellness productions we have had, and most of all being gifted this colorful life. I have recently discovered an autoimmune challenge of my own that I have to pull up my bootstraps and overcome. This has led to a heightened awareness of my daily wellness practices and research for my patients benefit. We all have a story to tell.

If you had a magic wand, what would your world look like?

Not much different than it does now, with the addition of a beloved that can share in all that I love to do, and house near a water source or river, which I’m working hard towards. More time and experiences with my family.

What is your profession or passion?

I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner, with a western medical and native American medicine background, bringing the three worlds together to meet each person where they are at.

How do you help people or how would you like to help people?

Through the lens of Ayurveda and naturopathic medicine, I have the insight and tools to help people on their wellness journey. It is a blessing, together with our support team and team of practitioners, together with my incredible business partner to guide our individuals to a 100% success rate of goal-oriented outcome.

How can we help support you?

Our Detox Immunity Wellness Program is a complete program to cleanse the body, extend life span and heal simple to challenging health conditions. The programs address anything from finally losing some unwanted weight, to atypical health issues and beyond that. Beyond that are things that look like an unsettling diagnosis and the desire to embark on natural healing or becoming part of an integrative approach medical team.

What are you working on or what kind of work do you do that would interest someone enough to hire you for your services offered?

Although each of our locations and environments focus on specific services; Sedona Wellness is our main location for cleanse programs, wellness retreats Naturopathic medicine and continued education; Pagosa Wellness is a wellness day spa fitness and resort environment and wellness conferences; Aztec Wellness focuses on structural integration and functional medicine with Chiropractic-each hold hands with each other and will one day manifest into a larger vision. We now have wellness products and apparel for the lifestyle we ourselves live. We live what we do.

What does inspiration mean to you?

The ability to consistently be who one is, and never give up. When I meet someone like that, I am truly inspired. When I get there sometimes myself, it inspires me to expand beyond my greatest desires.

How do you want to inspire?

By giving on the knowledge my teachers have so generously given to me.

What is the biggest message you can offer a person?

Truly understand “Tat tvam Asi”- I am that, you are that, that’s all there is. (roughly translated from Sanskrit:) This, my friend, is my greatest lesson to strive towards.

How did you meet Nina and get to know each other?

I remember meeting Nina in our spiritually active community at different times over the years, but I will NEVER forget you after producing the Sedona Yoga Festival, where you were a vendor, sponsor and extraordinaire, offering to help me at any corner. I kept thinking, “WHO is this crazy lady and WHERE does she get all her energy?!” It’s been a great pleasure to understand Nina better, and now she is a part of my programs! Nina is one of those –‘consistent in who you are’ people, I admire. Those of us in the world that drive our dreams tend to often be misunderstood. I see you, Nina. This was the inspiration for the upcoming unplug retreat.

What about YogiYogaWear?

I LOVE YogiYogaWear, it feels soft like butter, fits fantastic and has the best colors for everyone. Very well thought out and conscious designs that are created to be energetically dimensional. You don’t just look at it thinking “oh that’s a pretty design” you look at it and receive an emission that comes from the fractal designs Nina has created with love and painstaking detail, out of devotion to rising above her greatest self. I wear my YogiYogaWear all the time, but when she asked me to wear it for some photos, I set my self-conscious body image conditioning aside because: Tat tvam Asi!
